I took this picture when Alicia was listening
to music, laying on the floor.  She will
probably want to kill me for putting this one up….
However, maybe it will be incentive for me to get a more recent one from her.

It worked, she sent me a new one!  (She has movie star eyes )Alicia is coming home for
Memorial Day, then she will be moving back in after graduation.

Alicia will be 18 this year.  Her one great love is music, it is also a gift.  She can do things with her voice that will inspire those who cannot be inspired.  It is truly amazing. (you can't tell I'm proud… can ya)
Alicia was all of 13 when she came to live with us.  It was quite an experience.  We all had a lot of learning to do.  All in all, I think we did very well.
Alicia has always been my outgoing child.  I don't think she ever met a stranger.  Where ever she goes, people flock to her… she is quite the leader.  She doesn't follow trends, she makes them.
This hasn't always made life easy for her.  Her outgoing  and
outspoken ways made it difficult at times.  Alicia did not fit in well with traditional teaching.  However, since she has been at Job Corps, she has done very well.  In just a few months she has
obtained her GED and is well into her business classes.  Way to go "Little Girl".
Alicia started singing and sitting in with bands (on stage) when she was 14.  It was strange taking her into bars.  But if you could have seen the way she could make a room full of drunks stop…. And listen, watch them dream.  When Alicia sings, it isn't just words.  She brings the music to life.  She is still singing and just this past week she sang before the governor of Oklahoma.
She is looking forward to going into the Army towards the end of the year.  She plans to get into the special forces.  Knowing her, and her determination, she will do just that.
